About Save Our Souls
Our Story
Save Our Souls (SOS) was born from a simple problem: even believers who genuinely want to grow spiritually are overwhelmed by digital distraction. Phones interrupt prayer, steal focus, and slowly shape our habits in ways we don’t notice until we feel distant from God.
We created SOS to give Christians a simple, physical, daily ritual for reclaiming attention. With one tap of the Devotion Card, distractions fall away and your phone becomes a space for Scripture, reflection, and worship.
SOS is built for families, churches, and individuals who want tangible tools—not more noise. It’s a movement toward presence, spiritual discipline, and meaningful connection with God in a world that never stops buzzing.

Our mission is ambitious but clear: reclaim 100 million hours of screen time and turn them into God Time.
Founders Story
I was sitting at the kitchen table, half-listening to my daughter and half-scrolling Threads.
She looked at me, small and serious, and said the words that broke me:
Dad, you love your phone more than me.
I wish I could tell you I brushed it off, or that she was exaggerating. But she wasn’t. In that moment, I knew she was telling the truth.
For nearly 19 years since the Navy and going to Columbia, I’ve been sober from drugs and alcohol. I’ve started companies that have helped over 40,000 people fight those same addictions. I know what bondage looks like. I know the lies we tell ourselves. I know how we minimize, rationalize, and hide.
And still, I had quietly cross-addicted.
The drugs was gone. The bottle was gone. But the glowing six-inch screen in my hand had taken their place. Instagram. Threads. News. “Just checking something.” “Just a minute.” “I’m working.”
Four hours a day. Sometimes more. Numb, angry at the world, scrolling my life away while my daughter watched.
Jesus talks about the log and the speck. Before I could ever ask my kids to get off their phones and games, I had to face the log in my own eye. I had to admit: I wasn’t free. I was enslaved. And I was teaching my kids—by my example—that this was normal.
That night, God put a weight on my heart I couldn’t shake and that is how this company started.
The Log, the Speck, and the Invitation
I didn’t build SOS because I had my life in order and wanted to fix everyone else’s bad habits.
I built it because my little girl told me the truth: I was loving my phone more than her.
God used her words like a scalpel. He exposed the log in my own eye. And in His mercy, He didn’t leave me there. He invited me into a journey of changing my habits, reordering my loves, and reclaiming my time.
Along the way, He showed me I’m not alone.
We are a generation of believers who love Jesus and live enslaved to our screens. We are sincere in our faith and scattered in our attention. We’re trying to follow God with hearts that are constantly being tugged away by glowing rectangles.
Save Our Souls is my imperfect, in-progress response to that.
It’s a humble tool. A little card. An app. A few lines of code. A simple shield.
But in God’s hands, He’s already used it to give me back about two hours a day—hours that used to disappear into Threads and Instagram and the news. Hours I now have to play with my kids, to talk with my wife, to sit quietly with God, to build what He’s asked me to build.
My prayer is that SOS can do the same for you.
Not because you’re strong, but because you’re honest.
Not because you’ve mastered your phone, but because you’re willing to admit you haven’t.
Not because you’re better than the world, but because you belong to a different Kingdom.
If you, like me, feel that ache—that sense that your phone owns more of you than it should—then maybe this little card and this simple app can be part of how God begins to save your time, your attention, and your soul from the endless scroll.
Less scroll time. More God time.
